the best 24 season ever - I don t understand why so many are disappointed with season 6. In my humble view, it has the best written, most sophisticated script of the series. While all the plot twists and surprises and tension in previous seasons had been created with great skill and cleverness, the characters and events in is one is so authentic, it is as if the writers have matured over the course of the 6 series, and has had time to look into even deeper into the things that affect all of our lives - clear and present danger NOW. And the result - is beyond fab or brilliant. It is simply masterly. Daringly, it veers from the tried and true 24 formula of nonstop action to allow glimpses into the possibility of character change and redemption. Long may the series live, if it continues to produce TV like this....Nothing even comes close. And I just saw the much lauded DARK KNIGHT this afternoon, 24 season 6 makes Dark Knight s very excellent script ( despite its great Fx and acting) seem clunky and labored. I only hope the writers will continue to produce work that challenges us and not dilute their vision to please those who are blind to the merits of this series.
meh! - A bit of format fatigue setting in. Some good episodes, some not so much. The enforced break caused by the writers strike may help to freshen it up. Let s hope so.
Worst Season - Best Villain - With this season it got repetitive for the first time.Apart from the camps in which arab citizens have to go there was nothing new.Even in the Script-MakingOf they say that with the 7th season they have to present something completely new. And with the writers strike they had time enough to produce the best scripts so far. Hope dies hard. But it was nice watching the best villain of all seasons. The actor was just perfectly cast and I hope we will see much more of him. With the 7th season they have to prove, that 24 is the most inventive and progressive tv-series.
Loved it - Despite the criticisms voiced over this series, I thoroughly enjoyed it.Sure there are times you think What, not again . As CTU s security is compromised again. As another director of CTU is removed. Despite this, the 24 factor is still there and each episode ends with a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more. The new characters introduced play there roles well and there are enough unexpected twist and turns to keep you interested.I m off to get series 7. What better recommendation is there?
Oh Jon Cassar, what went wrong????? - I love 24 and have done since the very start, but my word season 6 is so far off the mark it s untrue!!! I think the problem stemmed from season 5, although it was one of the best seasons EVER, in my opinion they made one huge error.....they killed off EVERYONE!!!! Meaning season 6 was like a totally new show, with Jack thrown in every now and then!!!! Far too much talking, and not enough Bauer!!! If your a massive 24 fan like me then it doesn t really matter about these reviews as you are more than likely going to watch it anyway....but be warned, it is not good!!! Come on Keifer and Cassar you can do better than this!!!!
